Home > Accounts > Screen Shots/Explanations > Accounts - Account Adjustment - Allocations
This tab will be visible when doing a payment or an adjustment transaction that needs to be allocated. It basically allows you to allocate the value of the current transaction to other transactions.
Figure: Example Account Adjustment Allocation Screen
Adjustment Amount |
This is the value that needs to be allocated from the payment or adjustment. |
Unallocated Amount |
The value that still needs to be allocated. For a new transaction, this will default to the Adjustment Amount. As amounts are allocated to other transactions in the grid, this amount will decrease. You need to get this value to zero to show the transaction is fully allocated. For an adjustment, you cannot save the transaction until this amount for zero. For a payment, you ideally want to get this to zero before saving but, if need be, you can save the transaction when it is not fully allocated. |
Allocate To Oldest |
Instead of manually allocating the adjustment, you can click the Allocate To Oldest button which will automatically allocate the adjustment amount against the oldest transactions in the grid. |
The grid lists all the transactions that this transaction has already been allocated to (if you had a payment that was partially allocated and you have recalled to finish the allocations) or that can be allocated to (any outstanding sales). You can allocate the value of Unallocated Amount to any of the transactions listed here.
Trans# |
A unique number assigned by the system. |
Location |
The location for which the transaction was made. |
Date |
The transaction date. |
Type |
Indicates the type of transaction. |
Reference |
A reference number for this transaction. |
Outstanding |
The amount that is outstanding on this transaction. |
Allocated |
The amount that you have allocated to this transaction. |
