Details of the barcode fields used to define the barcode format.

Number |
Barcode number of the format to which the field definition belongs. This is the value specified in the Till maintenance function for up to 3 different barcodes. |

Type |
This is either STATIC (that is, a specific value set in the format) or DYNAMIC – the user picks a tag to indicate a dynamic value from the transaction to be used. Dynamic values also support a format string – dependent upon the tag chosen. |

Length |
The length of the field is set to the length of static data entered or specified by the user for a dynamic value. |

Value |
If Static is the type chosen indicates the specific value. |

The following tags are supported for dynamic fields (the values shown are the default descriptors for the fields rather than the specific values stored internally).

Format |
The format specifier @nn,mm is a way to indicate that you want to use digits nn to mm of the indicated value. For example, suppose you have location IDs set to a format such as LOND001, LOND002 and so on, then you only want to include the numeric part of the location in the barcode. In this example you want to use digits 5, 6, 7 of the trade code. To do this you would specify a dynamic field with tag = Location and format = @05,07. |
