Sales Methods

Figure: Example Sales Methods Screen

These records define the different Sales Methods that can be used at POS for selling an item. Although many sales methods can be defined, only three sales method buttons are displayed at POS using SALESMETHOD_NEWTRANS (SALE-EATIN, SALE-TAKEAWAY and SALE-OTHER) using codes 0, 1 and 2.

Code

The unique code to identify the Sales Method. Code 0 is pre-defined and cannot be deleted only amended.

Description

A description of the Sales Method, for example Takeaway or Delivery.

Tax Type

The type of tax to be used for this item.

Normal Sales Tax

When the item is sold using this Sales Method, it will be taxed based on the Sales Tax code defined on the item.

Takeaway Sales Tax

When the item is sold using this Sales Method, it will be taxed based on the Takeaway Sales Tax code defined on the item.

Charged CESS

If checked on, CESS can be charged for items sold with this sales method. For example, eat-in sales may be charged CESS but takeaway sales are not. The flag is used in conjunction with similar flags in the Tax section of Items. Both, this flag and the one in Items must be checked on for CESS to be charged. If either flag is checked off, CESS will not be charged.

Charged Service

Similar to Charged CESS but controls whether service fee is charged or not.

Ask Covers

Using this option you can control which sales method for which you want to ask for covers at the start of a sale. The Ask Cover option in Till must be checked on first.
