Item POS Messages

Messages can be displayed on POS when items are scanned. These messages can be displayed either at the bottom of the screen beneath the fastkey buttons or on a popup window depending on priority of the message.

The first section controls where and when a message will be displayed.

Location

A list of locations where the messages should be displayed.

Effective

The message can be displayed on or after this date.

Expiry

The message can be displayed up to and including this date.

Days Of Week

The message will only be displayed on the days that are checked on.

The second section indicates the items for which the message can be displayed.

Department

The message will only be displayed for items in this department. If this is left empty, the message will apply to items in any department.

Category

The rule will only be displayed for items in this category. If this is left empty, the message will apply to items in any category.  

Group

The rule will only be displayed for items in this group. If this is left empty, the message will apply to items in any group.  

Subgroup

The rule will only be displayed for items in this subgroup. If this is left empty, the message will apply to items in any subgroup.  

Classification

The rule will only be displayed for items in this classification. If this is left empty, the message will apply to items in any classification.  

Family

The rule will only be displayed for items in this family. If this is left empty, the message will apply to items in any family.  

Item Number

The rule will only be displayed for this specific item If this is left empty, the message will apply to any item.

The next section is for the message itself.

Message

The actual message to be displayed to the POS user.

Priority

The priority of the message. If the priority is 'Normal', the message will be displayed below the fast key area of the POS. If the priority is 'High', the message will be displayed in a pop up window to the user.

The last section refers to the format of the message.

Bold font

Indicates if bold (emphasise) text is required.

Italic font

Indicates if italic text is required.

Font Size

Allows you to specify the size of the font.
