How Do I Change the Ports that the MCS is listening on?

You can configure which TCP/IP Ports the MCS listens on. These have to be unique Ports that no other program is using on the system the MCS is installed on.

Depending on whether you are running TCP Stateless, TCP Stateful or HTTP Stateless will define which settings you need to change.

For a TCP Stateless connection, you will need to change the following settings in the Dynamic.ini file:

[DRSServers]

TCPPortBasic=8205

TCPPortData=8215

TCPPortBusiness=8225

TCPPortReport=8235

TCPPortPOS=8245

For a TCP Stateful or TCP Mixed connection, you will need to change the following settings in the Dynamic.ini file:

[DRSServers]

TCPStatePortBasic=8302

TCPStatePortData=8312

TCPStatePortBusiness=8322

TCPStatePortReport=8332

TCPStatePortPOS=8342

For a HTTP Stateless connection, you will need to change the following settings in the Dynamic.ini file:

[DRSServers]

HTTPPortBasic=8300

HTTPPortData=8310

HTTPPortBusiness=8320

HTTPPortReport=8330

HTTPPortPOS=8340

Once you have changed the Ports, stop and start the Merchant Central Server.

It is also possible to have the MCS listen on one port instead of five, however it is recommended that you do not set your system up in this manner.

However, to set up only one port, simply set the PortBasic to be the port for the MCS to listen on and the other four ports to zero. For example:

[DRSServers]

TCPStatePortBasic=8302

TCPStatePortData=0

TCPStatePortBusiness=0

TCPStatePortReport=0

TCPStatePortPOS=0
