Locations - Departments

This tab will allow you to indicate the departments that are used at this location. This information is used when manually entering statistics for the location.

% Wages

The percentage of wages that re considered 'on costs'. On costs can include payroll taxes, superannuation, pension tax, and so on. These might contribute a further 20% to costs over the top of standard wages.

When wages are entered for the location using Statistics Entry, the On Cost will be automatically calculated.

The On Cost percentage is entered at the location level because the value will differ between states due to the state taxes such as payroll tax.

Available Departments

The Available Departments grid lists the locations within a department. Note, the system doesn't automatically work out which departments are in the location. You must do this manually. For each department, various numbers can be assigned. These details are used to calculate various statistical values (Cost Of Goods Sold, and so on) when directly entering statistics using Statistics Entry.  

The details are as follow:

Department

A department which exists within the store.

COGS Method

The Cost of Goods method used when entering statistics. When the user enters the sales for the department, the Statistics Entry Form will automatically calculate the Cost of Goods value using this form. Valid values are:

0   No formula. User must enter Cost of Goods value.

1   COGS = (Sales - SpecialSales) * Cost Ratio + Special COGS

2   COGS = Sales * (1-Store PC Margin/100)

3   COGS = Physical Opening Stock + Total Purchases - Closing Stock

Cost Ratio

The ratio used by the COGS Method 1.

Wrap%

When the user enters sales into the Statistics Entry Form, the Wrap figure will be calculated by multiplying the sales by this percentage.

Ingredient%

When the user enters sales into the Statistics Entry Form, the Ingredients figure will be calculated by multiplying the sales by this percentage.

Shrink%

Not currently used.

Other%

When the user enters sales into the Statistics Entry Form, the Other Expenses figure will be calculated by multiplying the sales by this percentage.

Comp%

Not currently used.
