Locations - Price Levels

Figure: Example Locations Screen

This tab allows you set various rules about which price level should be used on the POS. For example, you could say that on Sunday Breakfast an orange juice will sell using the sell price specific for Price Level 1 but on Monday Lunch it will use the sell price for Price Level 2.

These rules override the Price Level which could be set on Customer Categories. If you don't specify any rules here, the existing ones on Customer Categories will continue to be used. However, this method offers more flexibility and should be used.

You can enter several rules for each location. The POS will look for the rules for its location. If none are found it will then look at the location's parent. It will repeat this until some rules are found. If no rules are found, the system will fall back to the price rules it has always used.

For each price rule, you can enter the following information:

Customer Type

The specific customer type, to which this rule applies. If no type is entered, the rule applies to all customers.

Day Of Week

The day of the week the shift applies. Can be a specific day or 'Any Day Of Week'. The POS will look for rules for the specific day but if it can't find any it will look for rules for 'Any Day Of Week'.

Shift

The Shift that is applicable on this day of the week. If the price level applies to any Shift, select the 'Any Shift' option.

Sales Method

The Sales Method for example Eat-In/Takeaway, to which this price level applies. If the price level applies to any Sales Method, select the 'Any Sales Method' option.

Price Level

The sell price (1-5) that should be used.

The POS will look for the most appropriate price level to use, in the following combinations:

Customer Type + Day Of Week (Trading Date) + Shift + Sales Method

Customer Type + Day Of Week (Trading Date) + Shift + Any Sales Method

Customer Type + Day Of Week (Trading Date) + Any Shift + Sales Method

Customer Type + Day Of Week (Trading Date) + Any Shift + Any Sales Method

If still none found, it will repeat the tests for Any Day Of Week.

If still none found, it will repeat both sets of tests for Any Customer Type.

The last test it uses is:

Any Customer Type + Any Day Of Week + Any Shift + Any Sales Method
