Home > POS Management > POS Set Up > Concepts > Next Sequence Numbers
It is possible to set different number sequences for the different POS transaction types. For example, the Printing of Bills can have a receipt number which is not in sequence with standard Sale or Order transactions.
To define the different sequence range, use DataEntryBasic.Exe NextSeqNum to set each of the required transaction types so that a different sequence numbering range will be used for each set. Within each sequence set code different POS transaction types can be defined. for example SALE, RETURN, PRINTBILL, NOSALE, TILL ADJ. The point of service will then use a different sequence number for these transactions. If a type is not in a set, then POS will use the existing sequence number. Therefore, it is only required to create sets for the exceptions.
