Stock Entry

Figure: Example Stock Entry Screen

Press this button to set up how the items will be imported for this process. See Stock Entry Setup for further details.

The grid on the screen records the items that need to be imported and the quantity. The exact columns that will be displayed will depend on how the import was set up. See Stock Entry Setup for further details.

Import Data

Clear Grid

Press this button to clear all data currently shown in the grid. The details are not saved.

Clear All Details

Press this button to clear all data currently shown in the grid, plus any data previously imported (see Update Later button below).

Show Details

Press this button to show the details of all counts currently in the system. This is useful if you had errors when the Update Now button was pressed. Any rows that imported successfully are deleted. So if you press the Show Details buttons, you will only see the rows that had an error. You can fix these and press the Update Later/Update Now buttons again.

Update Later

You may have several people counting with PDE's or doing manual data entry. This means that you will do several data imports before you have all the data you need to actually process. When you have finished importing a set of data you can press this button to indicate that you will do the update later on because you have more data to import. The data will be saved and the window will be closed. Next time you get into this window for this transaction, you will not see any previous data in the grid. You can then do another import and press Update Later. You can repeat this as many times as required until you have all stock details entered. The system will keep track of ALL the previous entries for this transaction.

Update Now

When you have imported all your data and you are ready to update the main transaction, for example stocktake, press this button. The system will take all the data in the grid and update the details on the main transaction. If you used the Update Later button to hold any previously imported data, this will be retrieved and also updated on the main transaction. Any errors are shown in the Stock Entry Error Report.

Note: The details are process in the order they were entered. This makes it easy to identify items which were processed around the same time to help identify problem items.
