Trading Statistics Request - Basic Statistics

The Request form is split into two sections: Grouped By... and Statistics To Be Selected... used to select the criteria for how the data is to be summarised. Click on the tab you require help with.

Grouped By

Allows you to specify how the data is to be summarised. Click on the option you want to summarise by. For example, if you ask for the data to be grouped by period, all statistics for the selected periods, departments and locations will be added together and data displayed for each period.

If you select the option to group by Location, you can also select a Statistics Group. This allows you to group by region or state, instead of store. If you leave the Statistics Group empty, the statistics will be grouped by store.

Statistics To Be Selected

Allows you to specify the actual data to be retrieved.

Period Range

This will default to the current week. A From and To period can be selected. There is a button available for the From Period. If you click this, a form will be displayed allowing you to select the type of period you are interested in. The system will then automatically fill in the From and To periods.

Date Range

This option allows you to select statistics for the specified date range. To use this, check on the Date Range option and enter the from and to dates.

Note: Trading statistics only shows stock data when a trading period is selected, that is no stock data is displayed when a date range is selected.

This is because checking of stock data is simply a snapshot of STORERNG numbers moved to STATITEM and STATDEPT. The idea is that it is run as part of EOD at set points in time. The process exists to generate statistics from which you can measure a trend. They are really only for comparison purposes.” See UpdateStockStats for more information.

D/C/G/SG

When first opened, all of these fields will be empty and the category, group and subgroup fields will be disabled for data entry. This will select data from all departments. You can enter a specific department, which will then enable the category field for data entry. This means ‘select all categories within the department‘. At this point you can now select a category within the department. If you select a category, the group will be enabled for data entry and you will now be allowed to select a specific group if you required. This process can be repeated at the group level to allow you to select a group and at the subgroup level to allow you select a subgroup.
